"Take passion and determination anywhere you go and we promise you, you'll go far."
Today, I write with an extremely humble and grateful heart unlike any other moment in my life. On January 2, I set out on a journey to run 1000 miles in hope of raising awareness and $10,000 toward pediatric cancer research. As of today, not even completed with month 7 of the journey, we've achieved and surpassed the $10,000 mark and pounded 603 miles.
There are no words that could possibly even begin to explain how grateful I am for the incredible support system of friends, family, and donors that I've had thus far. It is truly remarkable in ways too numerous to count.
It is estimated that 16,000 children will be diagnosed with cancer this year, which means two classrooms of kids are diagnosed with cancer every day.
I run to keep the memories alive of those who have lost the battle, especially Kristin, Ellen, Sally, Carlene, Wendy, Lexi, and Pat. I run for those who are currently fighting. I run because I want to find a cure and will not give up that day happens.
There are still 5 months left in this journey, which means I'll be increasing my goal by another $5,000 to raise before the end of the year.
We still have so much work to do in the fight to find a cure and to keep hope alive, so please consider donating or sharing this post with family and friends.
Muhammad Ali once said, "You lose nothing when fighting for a cause. In my mind, the losers are those who don't have a cause they care about."
Courage. Honesty. Wisdom. Strength.
We WILL find a cure and we WILL continue to fight.
